The Lego Movie Sequel Sets Release Date

Posted by Jasmine with No Comments

Warner Bros. is wasting no time plotting a follow-up to global blockbuster The Lego Movie.

On Friday, the studio announced that the untitled movie will hit theaters on May 26, 2017, the beginning of the long Memorial Day weekend. Warners is being vague in terms of saying whether the film will be a proper sequel, or a Lego Ninjago spinoff.

News of a second film comes as The Lego Movie continues to make history at the worldwide box office, where it has earned north of $200 million in under two weeks. On Wednesday, the 3D animated film crossed the $150 million mark domestically.

The Lego Movie marks a crucial turning point for Warners, which has never had a strong foothold in the animation business. The film, which cost $60 million to produce, features the voices of Chris Pratt, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman.

Dan Lin and Roy Lee, who produced Lego Movie, are returning to shepherd the untitled project.

So far, the Lego movie is the only title to stake out the May 26 date.

B.J. Novak to guest in Community Season 5 season finale

Posted by Jasmine with No Comments

Little is known about Community‘s season finale, but here’s some intel to chew on: One, it’s in two parts. Two, here’s one celebrity guest you can expect to see: B.J. Novak.

EW has learned that the Office alum — whose first book was released this week and who will hit the big screen this spring in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 — will make a cameo appearance in the first half of the finale. How exactly Novak factors into the story is being kept under wraps, but he plays what’s being described as “a TV star in a sexy new series.

The first half of the finale is expected to air on NBC in April.

David Cross, Chris Elliott, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, and Arrested Development creator Mitch Hurwitz are among the other famous faces that will pop up in future installments of Community. New episodes of the fifth (and possibly final) season resume airing Feb. 27.
