Community is ending Season 3 in a big way, with three episodes airing in just one night, Thursday, May 17th, at 8:00, 9:00 and 9:30. (30 Rock will air its season finale at 8:30).

The first of these episodes, “Digital Estate Planning,” will feature a notable guest star (Breaking Bad’s amazing Giancarlo Esposito) and focus on a subject IGN readers should be very interested in – video games!

In the episode, Pierce, accompanied by the study group, is summoned to speak about his inheritance with his father’s former right-hand man, Gilbert Lawson (Esposito). This being Community, this will not be a normal encounter and soon, the entire group are playing a video game on Pierce’s behalf – with Pierce’s inheritance in the balance.

IGN has an exclusive clip for you from the episode, as the gang gets their first look at themselves in the decidedly old school game, and try to figure out just how to play it. Jeff and Annie shippers, get ready for some very different action between them!

Ausiello: I’ll wish you a happy 19th, but as for the rest of us all? Wait, I can picture them nodding. They’re doing it. OK, so happy 19th then, from all of us. As to your question, no, the 13-ep order is not final, so there’s a chance that the show could get a back-nine pickup (albeit a slim chance). Oh, and since I didn’t get you anything for your b-day, allow me to offer you some scoop: As previously reported, Breaking Bad guy Giancarlo Esposito guest-stars in the first of this Thursday’s three final episodes, playing a business associate of Pierce’s pop. But that’s only the half of it — Giancarlo is also Pierce’s kin! “It turns out that Pierce had a brother, and they play a videogame to win the inheritance,” Joel McHale told us at NBC’s upfronts event. And mind you, it’s no “next gen” game they compete in, but some clunky Atari 2600-caliber fossil.

IFC Films acquired North American rights to the Michael Mohan-directed romantic comedy Save The Date. The pic, scripted by Mohan and graphic novelist Jeffrey Brown and Egan Reich, stars Lizzy Caplan, Alison Brie, Martin Starr, Geoffrey Arend, and Mark Webber. Jordan Horowitz, Michael Roiff, and Michael Huffington produced the project, with Gary Gilbert executive producing. The film premiered at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

In Save The Date, fiercely independent Sarah (Caplan) breaks up with her overeager boyfriend Kevin (Arend) and finds herself caught up in an intense rebound relationship with new infatuation Jonathan (Webber). Always one to give life advice is Sarah’s sister Beth (Brie), who is diligently planning her upcoming wedding to apprehensive fiancé — and Kevin’s band mate — Andrew (Starr). With heart and humor, all five struggle with the trials, happiness, and pain of modern love. Simple and honest and always human, Save The Date is a contemporary story about the familial and romantic bonds that make us who we are.

Jonathan Sehring, President of Sundance Selects/IFC Films, said: “Michael Mohan has made an emotionally moving and often very funny film about commitment, skillfully transplanting Jeffrey Brown’s graphic novels. Although the show’s diehard fans will no doubt disagree, Community‘s relocation from Thursday to Friday is a good thing, maintains NBC president Robert Greenblatt.

“The show how has its faithful audience and they will follow it ’till the ends of the Earth,” the exec insists. “And I really wanted to do something to invigorate Friday because we love Grimm. So I thought, let’s move a show where the audience will move with it. I actually look at the positive side of it, although no good deed goes unpunished.”

Greenblatt, meanwhile, would neither confirm not deny buzz that series creator Dan Harmon may step down as showrunner. “I’m not up to speed on that yet,” he said. “I think he’ll be involved in the show to some degree.”

And what about Harmon’s “nemesis” Chevy Chase? “My assumption is [he will be back],” he said. “But I haven’t had any conversations about that this week, so I don’t have a definitive yes or no.”

Pop. Pop. “Community” is coming back for a fourth season.

A source close to production has confirmed that NBC has ordered 13 episodes of the low-rated critical darling. Unlike the “30 Rock” final season renewal, as far as I know this is not officially the final order for the show. It’s entirely possible “Community” could get a back 9 order next season or even, miracle of miracles, a fifth season. Unlike the aging, expensive “30 Rock,” it makes no sense for NBC to cut off its options with “Community” before it has to. While I’d say it’s probable that these 13 will be it for Jeff, Britta, Troy, Abed, Annie, Shirley, Pierce and company — and would allow the show to roughly mirror the four-year college experience — stranger things have happened at NBC in recent years (like five seasons of “Chuck”). Six seasons and a movie is still vaguely in play.

And while you celebrate this news, you can not only watch tonight’s episode, but once again enjoy some furry fun with Joel McHale, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jim Rash:
